Admission Process

The first step in the admissions process is to contact the center for a confidential assessment. During this assessment, a trained professional will gather information about your substance use, living conditions, medical and mental health history, and eating disorders to determine the most appropriate level of care and personalized treatment plan for your recovery journey.

Upon contacting us, we’ll assess your benefits and establish the extent of your coverage for the treatment you require. We’ll also examine any payments or co-payments that you may be accountable for. Additionally, we provide payment alternatives in the event that you’re not insured, underinsured, or prefer not to utilize your insurance benefits for personal reasons.

Once your pre-screen, clinical assessment, and insurance/payment information have been finalized, we’ll provide you with an admission date and a packing list. Our team will also assist you in arranging your travel logistics, which includes booking flights and coordinating pick-up from transportation centers like airports, train stations, and bus terminals. Alternatively, we can arrange local pick-up from your home. We understand how important it is to minimize stress during this time, so we’ll continue to collaborate with you every step of the way. While you’re traveling, we’ll remain in constant communication with you and your loved ones to ensure a smooth journey to the Indiana Center for Recovery.

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by one of our staff members who will initiate a thorough intake procedure. During this process, we will verify some of the details that were discussed during your phone intake, particularly those related to your medical and substance use history. Furthermore, a mental health evaluation will be conducted to commence the formulation of your personalized treatment plan.

FAQ
Is it permitted for family or friends to visit?

We know the importance of having support from loved ones during the recovery process. Family involvement is a crucial component of addiction treatment and can help facilitate long-term recovery. We encourage family and friends to participate in our family program, where they can learn about addiction and mental health, receive education on how to support their loved one during treatment and beyond, and participate in therapy sessions. We also offer visitation opportunities for family and friends at designated times, although these vary based on your treatment plans.

What do I tell my employer?

It’s understandable that you may feel concerned about how to approach your employer about your absence. If you’re comfortable doing so, it’s generally best to have an open and honest conversation with your employer about your situation. But, we can work with you to develop a plan, the documentation, and peace of mind needed for communicating with your employer and addressing any concerns about your job while in treatment. You can explain that you’re seeking treatment for a personal matter, and that you’re committed to your recovery and returning to work as soon as possible. But, it’s also important to know that there are laws in place to protect individuals seeking treatment for addiction and mental health conditions, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), which provide job protection and other benefits.

Can I bring my cellphone to the treatment facility?

We have specific guidelines for cell phone use during treatment to ensure that patients can focus on their recovery and get the most out of their treatment experience. Generally, we have patients limit cell phone use to designated times and specific areas of the facility. This minimizes distractions and maintains a therapeutic environment. Our primary concern is the safety and well-being of our patients, and we strive to create a treatment environment that is conducive to healing and growth. If you have any questions or concerns about our policy on cell phone use, we encourage you to speak with a member of our team, who will be happy to provide you with more information.

What is the payment process for the treatment?

Paying for addiction treatment can be a concern for many individuals and families. We are committed to helping our patients access the care they need, and we offer several payment options to make treatment more affordable and accessible:

Insurance: Most plans cover addiction treatment to some extent. Our team can work with your insurance provider to determine coverage and help you understand your benefits.

Financing: We recommend financing options that allow you to pay for treatment over time, with low monthly payments. You can apply for credit to cover medical expenses.

Private Pay: If you prefer to pay for treatment out-of-pocket, we gladly accept private pay options. Some include payment plans and discounted rates.

Our team can help you explore all of these options and determine which ones may be the best fit for your individual needs and circumstances. We are committed to helping our patients access the care they need and deserve, regardless of their financial situation.

What is the duration of the treatment?

At Indiana Center for Recovery, we use individualized treatment plans that are tailored to meet each patient’s specific goals, meaning treatment times vary. The detox process alone typically lasts from a few days to a week or more, depending on the substance and the person’s overall health. While a patient’s length of stay in a residential program can range from 30 to 90 days—sometimes longer—it depends on the severity of the addiction, mental health conditions, and progress in treatment. Throughout treatment, our team will regularly assess your progress and adjust your treatment plan as needed to ensure that you are receiving the care and support you need to achieve solid recovery with speed.

What occurs during my initial day of treatment?

First days are opportunities, even if they can be uncertain. When you arrive at our facility, you will be greeted by our team who will walk you through the intake process, answering any questions you may have. After a tour of the facility and your room, you can settle in and get comfortable. You’ll meet with your primary therapist. They’ll conduct an initial assessment to determine your unique needs and develop an individualized treatment plan. Assessments include physical exams, medical histories, and discussion of your history and any mental health conditions. Throughout the day, and throughout treatment, you’ll participate in a variety of therapeutic activities, including group therapy, individual therapy, and other evidence-based treatments, with access to a range of amenities, chef-made meals, and recreational activities, such as a full gym, movie theater, and more.
