Medically Supervised Detox
The detoxification process results in various withdrawal symptoms, and depending on how severe they are, medically supervised detox is the safest option. While you can suddenly stop using, or quit cold-turkey on your own, this could result in unpleasant withdrawal symptoms such as chills, headaches, nausea, vomiting, anxiety, depression, or difficulty sleeping.
It can be an uncomfortable experience both mentally and physical as your body and mind go through withdrawal. Depending on the substance used, how much you used and how long you’ve used, detox can take anywhere from a few days to two weeks.
Detox with medical intervention provides continual monitoring to quickly address any withdrawal problems as they occur.
Best Drug & Alcohol Detox
Successfully detoxing from a substance use disorder is an important and essential step of the recovery process. Medically supervised detox is recommended to help manage any possible withdrawal symptoms as they occur.
However; detox alone is not a cure for addiction. Most people should follow up with a residential treatment program to help them discover and discuss the underlying causes of their addiction.
Reach out to Indiana Center for Recovery to get effective treatment for your drug or alcohol addiction. Our detox program provides the necessary monitoring, supervision, and support so you don’t have to worry about dealing with cravings and other withdrawal symptoms on your own.
