Follow  These Steps...

to get the person you know the help they need.

Press pause on your expectations.

Watching someone experiencing addiction can be painful. Understanding no one gets better overnight can help you stay positive and persistent.

Show confidence and love.

Showing compassion and a belief in your loved one’s strength can help them realize their own resilience and achieve lasting recovery.

Know the signs (and when to act.)

Symptoms vary. Situations change. And addictions progress with time. Notice your loved one's patterns and research the behaviors or drugs that need to be addressed.

Give options.  Not demands.

Addiction can make people resistant to change. It also steals opportunities. Discuss the many treatment choices available to help your loved one see sobriety as a real possibility for their future.

Talk to experts. Make a plan.

You may feel overwhelmed by how to support, protect, and motivate your loved one.  Text or call our counselors to make a helpful plan of action.
